It depends. While mean people normally are most well known, it doesn't mean they're popular. Nice people deserve to be more popular, so if you see someone doing something nice or being nice, reward them with a compliment out loud so others hear it. It's the best way to get nice people noticed. Plus it boosts their self-esteem, and would make them more likely to compliment you as well!

Generally, but nice and/or mean are different values to different people. Say you're a top-notch efficiency expert who's known all over Wall Street and popular nation-wide in the financial sector.......but what about the 10-year old kid eating out of a garbage can because his father lost his job and then his house because his factory was deemed redundant and inefficient and closed. You wouldn't be too popular to him. We are nicer, more cordial, to those we might be popular with.....with others it's not too important, apparently.

yea.. i mean, not as popular as those 'mean girls' but they are much better coz their popularity spouts from something good, wheras for those mean people, they became popular because of their proficiency when it comes to intimidation.

so to cut the story short, when looking at it in a different perspective, NICE people tend to be more popular than MEAN ones... well, i guess the Mean Ones are popular to be in the Principal's office.. :D

You're always going to have a mix. Every school's "in" crowd is different too.
