When you naturally hit to the opposite field, it is considered to be very good, as it is much easier to learn to pull the ball than to learn to go the other way. First thing is to check your stance. If your back leg is further back from your front leg, this will shoot the ball to the opposite side. Evening your legs out will help. Make sure that when you swing, your knuckles are aligned, because if they aren't you will always hit to the opposite field. (Plus it saps all of your power!!! ALWAYS align your knuckles.) Other than that, make a conscious effort to pull the ball by not trailing the head of the bat behind your hands. Hope this helps.

redsoxalldaway doesn't know what he's talking about. Using a donut or 2 bats will only DECREASE your batspeed. It will only make it feel like your swinging harder because one bat is lighter than 2 or than a bat with a donut on it. When you swing extra weight, you're training your muscles to swing slower, not faster. To hit the ball to left field, you need to increase your batspeed. You can do this buy taking practice cuts everyday(a couple hundred a day) and doing forearm workouts. Your wrists and forearms play a big part in batspeed. You can also stand back in the box so you can see the pitch longer and you could also try crowding the plate so pitches down the middle will be inside and pitches away will be the same as right down the middle.

Try standing back a little farther in the box. You need to get a faster or earlier swing to pull to left filed. Perhaps a lighter bat? It would give you both a faster and earlier swing because you don't have to get as much weight moving, although you will not hit with quite as much power either. An accurate hit is usually better than a hard hit anyway.

Stand back in the box, anticipate the pitch, and swing a little sooner. Not being able to pull the ball to left means you are swinging a little late. Also, you could work on increasing youer bat speed by taking practice swings with a donut on the bat.

You need to throw your hands out first. Lead with the end of the bat. You can practice this by taking your bat and stand close to a fence, place the bat at you bellybutton and let the other end just touch the fence. Standing that close to the fence than swing. You need to throw your hands out first, and lead with the tip of the bat, if you don't you will hit the fence. Just keep practicing. Best of skill with that.

your swinging to late. You have to get in front of the ball. You can either choke up not recomended or stand back in the box and work on your strength to swing faster.
