If the ER didn't find anything obvious, I'd suggest you look into a other options - Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Chron's or Colitis, and allergies - especially any type of wheat or flour. The symptoms seem to match.

Her family doc will help with this, and none of them can be determinied by blood test or xray (except colonoscopy (colon xray)- very unpleasant but if necessary they will sedate her.)

My son had IBD for quite a while before we knew what it was (5 Years?) . He's 21 now and doing fine -mind you he must be careful what he eats - and that includes kids favourites like pop and fruit punch - pure juices only - and no canned crap like spaghetti-o's, alphabets, etc.

Time for a full diet change and maybe she will begin to feel better - it can take months.

Good luck!

My son actually just went through this same thing. The doctor told us that it could be anything from gas pains to exactly what you said but the main thing is to keep her hydrated. Water and Pedialyte, like the liquid or popsicles, my son couldn't stand the liquid but he loved the Pedialyte popsicles. The main thing is not giving her sugar right now. So no juices and nothing sweet in a solid form. Yogurt is an awesome food for her to eat because it's got natural live cultures in it that help fight off bacteria and anything else that could cause infection, not to mention it will build up her immune system as well. Also theres a remedy in the nurtrition stores called "bubble b gone" and it works very well with children. Hope she feels better.

This same thing happened to my daughter when she was 5. The ER doctors did every test they could, but they could not find out why her stomach was hurting so bad. After a few hours she stopped hurting. The only thing I can tell you is watch what she eats like a hawk, she may be having a reaction to a particular medication or had some physical trauma to the abdomen or even something as simple as gas. I know it is frustrating to not be able to help a child out of pain. The only thing I can tell you is to stay calm for the girl and lightly massage or caress her with pure lavender oil to relax her.

I had that problem. They could never find anything wrong. Then I was going to a massage therapist that had the same problem. When I became a teenager I no longer had it. When I would get excited about something it would happen but also other times.

It is extremely painful. Massage therapist says that it is caused by the ileocecal valve closing. It is between large and small intestine near appendix. It was accepted that nothing could be done (nothing was found wrong) so I had to go into bathroom with door closed so I would not bother others with my crying. Maybe you should googal ileocecal valve.

Have you taken her to her family doctor? Has this been a sudden onset? Websites are usually not a good place to rely on for medical information. But if you do want one, www.webmd.com is one of the best there I suppose. I'm curious, have they done any type of ultrasound to make sure there's no type of blockages, tumors, or anything like that in her abdomen?

Try making an appointment with a gastroenterlogist. It's important that you rule out thing like ulcerative colitis and cronh's disease which are moere severe. It could be something not as major like ibs or lactose intolerance.

Has she been tested for Crohn's Disease or Irritable Bowel Syndrome? These two diseases are very hard to diagnose, especially in children. She should be taken to a gastro-intestinal specialist.
