I've seen homosexuality blamed for the downfall of Greece and recently characterized as an illness. How is that NOT hate speech?

Everybody's got some form of hate speech once in awhile. The hate in their tongues is relative to the offense to which you have been affronted. Blaming those that blame others will be the antithesis to cultured thought, and the procurement of misunderstanding. How do you propose to "fix" anyone? Are they ill? Are you well? What is the varying line? Don't let anger guide you, as it as guided others, is my answer to you.

Tolerance is learned and as our society matures and grows so will the people - but that starts with kids. The more tolerant the adults, more good examples children will see. That is what will unltimately save us - eventually most of the kids will grow up with tolerance and then the next generation will be closer to all (though I think there will always be some trouble makers in the shadows of society - the trick is to ignore them, to give them no voice.)

The only people claiming it isn't hate speech are the ones that don't want to be seen as using hate speech. End of story.

Some people just always have to have something to b*tch about... go ahead and tie a few of 'em to the RR tracks, it'll be great entertainment, just call me 1st so I can watch too.

You are right.

This is hate speech.

And the best thing to do about it is to ignore it.
