In all honesty, who are you, or who should you be closest too, your mother, or your husband? We are not including children, because I feel like all women should be closest to their children.

I've always felt that because you choose your husband it is natural to be closer to them. You also share things with your husband that you can't share with your parents, like your sexuality. I don't have a lot in common with my mum and we aren't that close at all.

(I agree 100% with you about the kids, BTW!) I would love to believe I could be closer to my husband than almost anyone! Sadly, it didn't work out that way. However, I think my heart tells me it should be Mom (although, sadly...). When all is said and done, family really is so important! I have felt the sting of exclusion from my family dynamic for about 25 years and I truly wish it were different!

We leave our mothers and cleave to our husbands and two become one. And when the children are grown and gone, if you haven't made you husband number one throughout you marriage, you will not have one.

not all things u can share wit ur husband n also not all things u can share wit ur mum... so.. u still cud share some stuff to ur mum but to husband it is.. since ur married u share things together.. and since he's d closest person u can share wit...

i feel like i m closer to my husband than i am my mother. i share everything w/ my husband. there are something's (like my past drug use) that i won't share w/ my mother. hell i'm not tring to send her to an early grave!!

you should be close to both, but your immediate family comes first.. Your mom is your support and guidance, but not the ruler of your life.. you make your own decisions...

i feel it would be my husband, i chose him and he chose me. my mother called me a big mistake.
