2001 merc villager, a/c was blowing warm air. i took it to a local repair shop that advertised "a/c service." the guy felt the warm air & said i needed freon. he added freon but the air remained warm. he would gun the engine while adding freon, & then we saw smoke coming from the engine, specifically from the a/c compressor. that smoke was not there before. he said i needed new compressor & so i had him replace mine for $495. when done, i drove home with cool air for about 15 min & then the air turned warm. i immediately took it back, told of the problem, & another guy added more freon. air temp was 60 deg out of vents. drove it home w/cold air, then 15 min later, i saw light smoke shooting from the vents, more so when i accelerated. i gun the engine & saw white smoke from my exhaust as well. that stopped, but then the a/c went back to warm air. i didnt see the mechanic do the work, so i cant say if he checked for leaks before doing any work. any explanation for all that happened?

The heater coil will fog up the dash and windows. This will cause the carpet to get wet under the dash. I think it could be the heater coil. Even in the summer time. Looks like smoke from vents. This happen to my car in the summertime once.

Your motor vehicle is gasoline injected. gasoline injected engines frequently do no longer "flood" because the old saying is going for vehicles with carburator(s) which, through the way, motives 'white' smoke to exhaust out the engine. So, like lots of the different solutions for your question, that is probable linked with coolant leakage ( from a coolant hose ) or coolant leaking into one or more effective cylinders. This situation, even if, received't very last very lengthy.......it receives worse and also you'll scent anti-freeze ( coolant ). Take it to a mechanic you've faith ( good success on that one! ) or allow a mechanic you comprehend in my opinion have a 'look see' less than the hood to envision for coolant leaks around the hoses. If the engine looks 'lacking' or operating sparratically, that is probable a blown head gasket.

Go to a different mechanic!! Sounds like you may have a hole in one of your lines. That pobably isn't smoke blowing through the vents either. Most likely it's freon!!
