I think that your question could be answered by simply changing how you define your life, or yourself. Instead of referring to yourself as the body or person, refer to yourself as the way you have affected the world. Now what I mean is that, if you are a teacher you can see that you helped the world by educating children. If you are an environmentalist, you might have affected the world by working to help environment. Even if you are nobody working at McDonald's you might have helped someone else, or anything that you did that affected anyone could be counted. In this way you can see that art, children and literature are not the only things that you can leave behind, in a sense you will always live through the way you have affected the world. So in a sense you cannot waste your life, as long as you did something. But if your purpose is somewhat larger, then you will probably have to affect the world grately in a positive way. Well, that's all I can think of hope that helps.

It depends mostly on your view of what creative means. If you check a dictionary you will find creative is a Middle English word, createn from the Latin creatus past participle of creare with more of a meaning to crescent. Crescent refers to the shape of a phase of the moon. The moon goes from full to new to full again. It "creates" itself over and over again every 28.5 days.

In actuality, it hasn't done a thing other than exist. It is our perception of change or creativity that is the subjective issue.

Every life, however short or long, leaves something in its wake. Every breath we take, every life we touch, everything we do is a testament of our lives. Much of our lives are made up of the intangible, the unprovable moments.

A look, a touch, a thought, a feeling, a smile. Dreams, hopes, fears. We touch in ways we have never dreamed of the lives of those we have left behind, be it as a mother, father, educator, waitress, janitor, hospital attendant, and so on.

Even a soldier, terrorist, thief, murder are creative in their own twisted ways.

Your IM is evidence of your belief in the intangibility of the emotions. They are beautiful, but they taste awful and are easily burst.

I believe that no life is ever wasted. We learn and grow from everything in our lives, Just because it isn't physical or saved for all posterity, doesn't mean it has been wasted. My great-grandmother taught me to crochet. She did alter clothes for her church. They were accidentally destroyed, but they live on in memories, just like I remember her. Like everything in a computer may be deleted or "wiped", the impression is still there in the "eithers" (or mirrored in a back-up file).

Everyone leaves their imprint on the world...We all serve a purpose. We are all here for a reason. Nobody's contribution is more or less valuable than the other. We are all part of this intricate design, and if anyone is missing, there would be a noticeable gap, and there would be a disconnection. Nobody's life is wasted.

Worthwhile is all in the eyes of the beholder. Some legacies are obvious, others are subtle. A person who does good rather than harm and leaves the world a little better in any small way, has not wasted their life.

There is a such thing as "wasted talent." In other words, someone who doesn't use their skills to the best of their ability and just lives life doing other things that aren't even worth their time, which then you could say is a "wasted life."

I believe that people who THINK they are not creative or THINK that they leave nothing behind are wasting their lives criticizing their own actions. EVERY SINGLE PERSON on the planet contributes to the overall experience of living. Smiling at one person on the street can start a chain reaction of human behavior that can result in amazing things. Anyone who thinks they don't contribute, merely thinks too much on the negative.

Just because you get nothing from me when I'm gone doesn't mean I wasted my life.
As long as I have a good time and enjoy every minute then it wasn't wasted.
I can have it both ways though because I have contributed a lot. Some of the things I created are still on the moon.

Everyone impacts someones life someway. If it is positive then the smallest thing can make a big difference in that persons life. You don't have to invent the wheel of cure cancer to have a meaningful life. For me the thing that I want to best is care for my family. If I do that well then I will die satisfied with my life for making a difference in their lives.
