Gee, that's a hard one. They both are my favorites.
Well, since LOR is an adaptation, I'd say I'd pick MATRIX because it is completely, 100% original.

well i think if u were to be a part of movie then probably lord of the rings is a better choice imagine dressin in those costumes and running up and down through those scenic splendors,whereas in matrix it is all about computer magic.
