I have alltel phone service and lost my phone. I was offered a phone previously used through Cingular. I was told that the phone needs a sims card. Would I be able to activate this phone through Alltel and use it??

The Frequncies that Alltel uses are different then Cingular. An Alltel phone is compatable with Verizon but not with Cingular. What I do like about Alltel though is the ability to switch to analog if the digital signal is weak

Alltell should provide you with all of this sims card, look like they do not want you as a customer. I would switch to Cingullar right away, they are very good on this matter. This is a big company too and many flexibleplan.

No, absolutely not. The Sony Ericsson Z500a you have acquired WILL NOT work with AllTel. AllTel is a CDMA provider. The SonyEricsson Z500a is a GSM phone. The technology is incompatible, so you will NOT be able to use it.

Some cellphone company's provide programming information with your service. Instructions on how to tie your phone into THIER system.

It isn't EASY, but I did mine with 2 tries.

Hope this helps.

not likely cellular companies have different sim card. try a website and compare your phone to the plan you have now.
