I heard that if a house is sold by a realtor and the house gets sold the realtor gets a big cut of that money for profits so it's best if sold by owner, Is this true?

The Real Estate agent usually gets from 5 to 8 percent of the sales price.

When a house is sold in georgia there is a 7% commission taken from the price. 3.5% goes to the realtor that listed the house and 3.5% goes to the realtor that sold the house. Lots of people do sell their own house. It's not that its so hard its just so time consuming.

Anytime you use a realtor to sell a house they get a percentage of the selling price as a commission.

a realtor usually gets between 10 to 15 percent. but also take into account its hard to sell your own house

Yes, the Real Estate Company does take a percentage of the sale price - it's called commission. It is better to deal directly with the seller, but then, you risk the chance of being ripped off. Either way, we can get shafted.
