Go to VIEWS and then toolbars, and allow for standard buttons. You do this directly on your folder window.
System restore will allow you reset your PC to 3 days ago. Go to START then programs, then go to Accessories, then System Tools, and there is a system restore option in there.

Umm... Do you really want to do Windows Restore just because of that green back button? Is it in Internet explorer or Windows explorer where you just open up any window? Well, either way, you can just RIGHT-click the toolbar and click customize. You are able to add on any buttons that you (some how managed to) delete. Good Luck.

I am not very clear about your question description, I hope I might be able to help you still.
Considering you are using Windows-XP/ Windows-98
You should have appropriate rights on Windows-XP to do this, on Windows-98 it does not need any special rights.
1. Click Start -> click Run
(Alternatively you can also press 'Windows-Key' + 'R' on your keyboard)
2. If you are using Windows-XP/2000 type "cmd" and press "OK" button. (For Windows-98 type "command" and press "OK" button.)
3. You should see a new window with command prompt blinking (generally black with white text).
4. Type "date" or "time" and press "Enter" button on keyboard.
5. This will prompt you for new date or time to which your computer should be set. If you do not want to change, simply press Enter button.
6. When you are done, type "exit" and press Enter button.
I hope this was helpful for you to get your concern addressed.

either right-click within the body of the page you are on and select "back" or right-click on the bar at the top of your page where your "address" and select "standard buttons" . : )
You can restore your computer to a previous date from your control panel - system restore.
