Then the transmission is causing something to rattle, or perhaps the torque...I would focus on the bracket to your altenator...ensure they are tight

I would check the following:

1. Mounting bolts for Alt, AC Compressor, PS unit, etc.
2. Any loose/broken Wiring Harness sleeving hitting moving parts like fan/Alt, etc.
3. Any foreign material around/on engine hitting fan/Alt, belts, etc.
4. Did see one time a bad AC compressor making wierd noises similar to what you have
5. Also had loose retaining clips one time on tubing from tranny to oil cooler that made a rattling sound
6. Bad Alternator??

Good Luck

Its a belt issue...belts become dry over time...and quickest remedy is to replace it....Examine the belts real close..For a quickfix ...take a bar of soap and rub it on the belt, is will quite a noisey belt.......
