A link below shows CNet's reviews of the big antivirus software. They rate both Norton Antivirus 2005 and McAfee VirusScan Home 9.0 with the same 7.6...Norton Antivirus 2006 fell short apparently.

For the record, I've always ran Norton Antivirus and never had a virus.

If wanting the best and willing to pay for it, go with Norton Antivirus. Can be bought at Wal-Mart and most stores. If wanting a free virus program and not wanting to pay, than go with AVG. This virus program is free and can be downloaded off the internet by viewing the following website: http://www.grisoft.com

Well. if you are using a very powerful computer, Norton Antivirus 2006 should be the best. But if you are not, just use AVG free edition with update.

NORTON, if you load up the new 2006 Norton, it will take away every virus you have on the install. I love Norton and I used other antivirus programs in the past. goooooooooooo Norton! :) #1

I don't like Norton or MacAfee. Their anti virus is very slow and takes up a lot of room for updates. I use NOD32. It is quick, more accurate and keeps your computer clean automatically. It does not take up much of your Hard Drive space and it does everything in the background (scans, monitors and updates) without you ever having to attend with it.

I Choose KasperSky. Ok so it may not come as highly recommended as Norton or others but it takes up very little room and runs very nicely in the background. I found Norton to be a system hog. KasperSky can run a scan even when your running other programs, like games, movies, or even Photoshop.

That's like asking someone which version of the Bible they prefer. AVG seems to be one of the best, it is free and has less problems then Norton and Mac wants an arm and a leg to stay up to date. Zone alarm suit seems pretty good, but not free.

trend micro pcillin is alotttt better than norton because it removes viruses and trojans that norton can't and the settings and firewall are better and doesnt bug you alll the time. if u have a fast computer though and dont mind being bugged about alerts then get zone alarm. its really goood and probably the best despite the fact that it thinks every program is dangerous.
