Yeah he was flipping his cards out too much but Italy deserved the red card for elbowing the American player so no I am not too upset it was the players fault not the ref's

I wasn't so upset with the Eddie Pope second-yellow as I was with the Pablo Mastroeni straight-red. Having watched the replay about umpteen times, the fact is he got the ball first, then the player. Not only is that not supposed to be a red card, but I was surprised that Larrionda even thought the need to breathe into his whistle in the first place. What amazes me even more is that Mastroeni is now suspended for the United States' next two competitive matches (not sure if the suspension is for the first two matches of the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup that the US is hosting, and therefore automatically qualified for or the first two matches of South Africa 2010 Qualifying). Regardless, the suspension is absolutely insane, and Sepp Blatter needs a clue.

Everyone is. Even the Italian announcers said he ruined the game. He robbed the US in Germany just like the US was robbed in Germany in 1972 by the basketball refs.

He felt afraid of the Italian's wrath of giving a card to them, then he started getting card happy, he may have ruined the US's chances in the third game, for calls totally undeserving of the actions.

And i do agree abou tthe eyebrow comment
