What does the J stand for in John "J" Rambo?

From the movie First Blood--the character portayed by Sylvester Stallone-his name is John J Rambo---does anyone know what the J stands for or is it just a J?Thanks

I wanna say it stands for James. Don't ask why I think that. Maybe it showed up on the police report? I dunno.
