Peanut butter. Works every time and it's cheap and won't hurt the floor. Try to leave it on for a bit and see if it wipes away. If not, leave it on longer. Overnight would be ideal.

Goo gone is really good. It's kind of orange scented and it's oily. You pour a little on, work it in. Use a plastic scraper and/or a plastic scrubber and then a clean cloth to wipe it up. I usually use soapy water to get the oil off the floor or whatever, afterward.

Goo Gone is good, but if its deeper than that don't hesistate to use a little paint thinner on a cloth. After that you can take some polyurethane on a lint free cloth and apply to hide any finish that might have come off. I repair my hardwood at home this way as necessary.

alcohol or nail polish remover should work. I used it to get sticky residue from 90 mph tape (similar to duct tape) on my gear when I was in the army.

You can buy really really powerful gunk remover stuff. I think there is one called "GunkBgone" or somthing, if you go to a home depot or store like that and explain your situation they will be able to point you to some heavy industrial stuff. I used some on my car bumper to get some sticker gunk off.

We have this great stuff called Goo B Gone or Gunk Be Gone or something like that. It works wonderfully. If you can't find it, try WD40. Sounds strange, but that stuff can work miricles, too.

This all around gunk remover called Goof-Off removes anything...paint, ink, glue, stickers, crayon. I've used it for years.
