you should go to the dermatologist to get it checked out. also if you have had a mole for a while just keep an eye on it and if it gets larger that could mean cancer. but definitely get that mole you have checked out, especially if it is itchy!

not related, even though it is a mutation in the skin. There are types of cancer that start off as mole, or mutate. Melanoma if your worried signs include a halo around the mole, or dis coloration, also if the mole does not have a defined perimeter. Your best bet is to see a dematologist. For more information

Go to the doctor. It could be cancerous, and it's better to catch these things early. Any mole that appears suddenly, changes shape or colour, hurts or itches should be checked out.

Yes a mole can be cancerous. But I am no doctor to say that it sounds like it. Check with a doctor.

Yes, a mole can be a form of skin cancer...a basal cell, a sarcome or the dangerous malignant melanoma. Make an appointment with a dermatologist to have it evaluated. If he feels it needs to be checked out, he will remove it under local anesthetic in the office....it only takes a few minutes.
Feel free to email me with any other questions...just click on my avatar. I have had numerous basal cells, a multi-focal basal cell and a malignant melanoma.

It can be. My father had to have one checked for sure of cancer but he didn't. Most people I know don't even have any. I don't think it's too much to worry about.
