Unfortunatly, you cant charge for sentimental value. I think the going price is around 175.00-200.00 sorry:( I only got 75 for a flute that I payed 600.00 for 8 years previous.

I just had to purchase a used alto sax for my daughter. I have seen them priced from $100 to $300.00 by individuals. The nicer ones without tarnish were selling from $250.00 to $300.00. If you have a trading paper or web site in your area you may try there. Also, when school starts back up let area music teachers know you have one for sale. Good Luck!

Depends what brand and how good condition. Have a quick browse on ebay to see what the cheap ones are going for then take it to a proper music shop and get them to have a look at it. At a guess I'd reckon you could get anywhere between $800-$1800 for it.

It all depends on the saxophone. What is the make, model? Certain saxophones can be a few hundred, and some can be in the thousands.

Take it to your local instrament shop and have a salesperson give you a "unofficial" estimate of value. If you want a real est. value, you would have it appraised in writing, which will cost you some cash, but it is in writing and is legal for insurance claims.
