Open BIOS and change setting to look at C drive first and CD next (if you have that option) and A last. When you log on, it will never get to the A drive. You must have it set up to look at the A drive first.

If you don't use the drive anymore, then take the cover off the computer and pull the plug from the back of the drive (while it's turned off, of course).
