I am unclear as to whether you have left the disk in a (chkdsk)checkdisk state for two weeks, or whether the computer has been trying to fix itself with checkdisk coming on when you boot up (for two weeks). However, if the drive has been left with checkdisk in a state for two weeks, then you'll need to get a new one. If that is not the case when you boot up and checkdisk seems to be frozen or pauses, sometime if you leave the machine overnight it eventually will get through the bad sectors on your disk. You can then proceed to try and recover important data provided it will boot up. In a worst case scenario there are companies that will do hard disk recoveries for data that can't be lost, but I warn you in advance its extremely expensive.

If you tell me exactly what it does maybe I can help. Can you turn the drive on and boot in safe mode?
