hi, i had breast surgery a few weeks ago, dr. removed a cyst, it came back non-cancerous....now my nipple is bleeding. Is this serious?? Should i wait 2 days to see dr. or should i go to emergency sooner. I am worried, but i want to know if ther is anything to worry about or not. Any opinions would deffinately help...thank you!!

Doesn't seem right that your nipple should be bleeding. Did they make the incision by the nipple? When I had a complex cyst removed from my breast, I healed up really fast and was back at work within a week. The grossest part was when they pulled the drain out. Resembled a wet linguine noodle and it was long! Yuk. They also aspirated two other cysts which had become rather big. Strange color liquid that comes out. Caffeine makes the cysts grow bigger and I have limited my caffeine intake since then.

I wouldn't worry excessively about it but go to the doctor on Monday. That is unless it is bleeding really hard. Then I would go to the ER just to be on the safe side.

It could be infection or depending on if you had stitches or open wound, it could be from that. How much bleeding? If it's alot yes go to the ER, if it's just a little bit like a smear once in a while and you have no pain, no other oozing, no red streaks on the breast, no fever then it would be ok to wait to see the dr. If you have any of those symptoms go to the ER.
