Easy answer. What's easier to become? Rice and Powell are intellectual and highly educated people. Tell me, what's easier to become? What takes the least amount of effort? What takes the least amount of work and commitment?

How often do young Black youths get to see or here from Condeleeza Rice or Colin Powell? They are not on the channels that they watch, and they are not on the CD's that they listen to. Even on the news they are not regularyily portrayed. So if they don't see them, how can they look up to them as role models? They see the rappers on T.V, hear their CD's, and the gangseters are the ones who they see in their community.

You got your question answered right there by Alley, your first commenter. No, she's not right, but you can see the mentality of some people of color. If you're like Condeleeza or Colin and get educated, speak in an acceptable manner and be successful, you're a "puppet" or a "sell-out". It's ghetto mentality people. So you have to be a gangster or drug dealer to be true to your roots? I think not. And before you say it, NO I am not a racist. I have a multi-racial child that I am raising to be educated, proud and to DO something with her life.
To another one of your commenters here's a better question, what the hell does "keeping it real" mean? What an ignorant, uneducated thing to say.

Why do you assume that its all black youth turn to gangsters and rappers?
NEWS Flash! Rappers such as Puff Daddy and 50 cent have admitted that the majority of black people are not the majority of their fans. Stop the stereotype.
So who are the rappers really influencing?
Its not a choice of role models, its a lack of people willing take on the role of "role model". Everyone wants to place the responsibility on to someone else.
Its like the mother who passes the child on to the father who passes the child on to the auntie who passes the child on to the cousin, etc., etc., etc.
What do you expect if no one is brave enough to step on to the plate
AND the ones that are brave enough never get any attention from the media because its easier to broadcast the stereotype that lead you to ask your question...

I positioned it like this, if particularly everyone seems to be balloting for him because of the fact of his rules and not this entire "we want some one Black in place of work" than it might possibly no longer be counted to Blacks if he wins or loses. and of course him winning would not deliver peace to racism, no longer even close. that's what human beings could desire to do. we've heard approximately racist rants in the direction of him, in the direction of Blacks who human beings say are balloting for him because of the fact he's 0.5 Black, yet is that greater significant than the seperation between All communites, White, Black, Latino, Asian earlier this campaign? This basically makes human beings concentration greater on racial disputes, in view which you have a Black guy and a White guy working for place of work, you have electorate who won't vote for Obama because of the fact he's black and you have electorate who won't vote for McCain because of the fact they hate Republicans and don't decide for yet another White guy in place of work for 8 years. it is the fact, even even though it isn't the only clarification why human beings vote the way they do. far off from the campaign, individuals could desire to deliver greater significant subjects to gentle and take care of them with reference to racism, no longer purely making media visual appeal because of the fact a White person mentioned the N be conscious, or a comedian made an consumer-friendly shaggy dog tale approximately race which comedians do a lot. i'm speaking approximately going to neighbor hoods and hear the flaws being mentioned, see the way gangs devided by race work together with one yet another, why little ones get beat up because of the fact they are actually not Black or they are actually not white or they attempt to be like the youngsters they are starting to be up around, and get bullied into scuffling with. The further and further thoughts take place with racist assaults on anybody, the further and further human beings will cry approximately it and don't something because of the fact it is not seen a great deal, it is seen general. The N be conscious is general, white trash is general, making relaxing of sufferers of hate crimes is general. no one truly cares yet anticipate Obama to be the Mesiah to alter all of it. shall we be greater life like.

I suppose that is a valid question but i don't think its a black thing its more of a "im young and in love with money clothes cars and chicks that always want to f#$k me and dance around half naked without the talking back unless its about sex" THING. Its quite sad but most of the time that's all that alot of people want to do and think about these days

becaue this is what the media PRESENTS them as proper heroes. if the media hadn't starting stuffing rap and the gangsta lifestyle down the public throats, children wouldn't have latched onto it as the next "big thing." Too late now. If you say it's horse-hockey, you're a racist and you don't understand "black culture." Funny. I don't remember this BEING black culture when I was young...

A lot of African American people are insecure. It's also their culture. Some may even feel like if they dress/act "white," then they're be an outcast to their own race.
