siding for houses, lots of it are made with grains and patterns and hide all that. Hardipanel is a good example of that.

Cars was done to some extent but it isn't a sleek look and lets face it...If it sold...our cars would be rippled...so obviously patterns on cars doesn't sell....

It would probably ruin the aerodynamics of a car and lower its fuel efficiency.
