In western society, I think they are the ones who expose more of their bodies than most women would feel comfortable with, or that is 'necessary'. Why do most of them get angry if a man assumes they can easily be coerced into performing a sexual act? The way I see it is "if you wear the uniform, why shouldn't others think you also perform the job". (I'm not insinuating that they should be forced) If I were a man and wore a tuxedo, why should people think that I worked at a car wash? We as humans have always defined ourselves by the way we dress and present ourselves to others, and for most humans (with eyesight), many mating signals/cues are visual. If you don't mean to advertise that, then what other reasons do you have to give men (and other women) the wrong message/ impression? Isn't that false advertising? Isn't it selfish to make others feel uncomfortable in your presence?
*btw* I think it's hilarious when an offender gets defensive!

What about the families who are exposed to you when you are out in public?

A 'sexy' woman is 'sexy' no matter what she wears. Dressing 'sexy' is just drawing attention away from your flaws.. maybe like your face? or your intelligence? Just a thought..

Kitten: What stores are the young ladies, you are acquainted with, shopping at??
I agree about the media's influence though, especially on the naive or weak minded.

Coolmom..what you wrote is pure rubbish! Respect is earned, it is a privilege not a right. If I just met you on the street, and every other word you said to me was a curse word, WHY should I respect you if you have no respect for me? Same with being overtly sexual. Those who dress as such make the majority of others who are exposed to them in public uncomfortable. If a woman is wearing a skirt so short, (that her panties can be seen if she does not carefully monitor her movements) and is in public, (like the mall, where there are children) WHAT RESPECT IS SHE GIVING THE PARENTS OF TEENS OR CHILDREN? WHAT RESPECT IS SHE GIVING LITTLE CHILDREN? WHAT RESPECT IS SHE GIVING OTHER WOMEN WHO FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE WITH HER STYLE OF DRESS? Would it be that much of a stretch to say that she is not very respectful of others and their reactions? What 'right' does she have to EXPECT 'respect'? What about the men who's mind she is 'toying' with? What respect is she giving them? None...

I'm not sure exactly what a "slutty" woman would look or dress like, but I think that a lot of women wear revealing clothing to exert a form of power over most males. I know that I can't help but look when it seems that a lady (never mind what she looks like, in some cases it might be like looking at a car wreck: you want to pull yourself away but you continue to stare in morbid fascination) is wearing skimpy clothing. It's like a mind game: You can look all you want, but you'll never have me.
Classic experience with one of those defensive women: At Disneyland of all places about a week and a half ago! This girl was getting off a ride and her pants were practically falling off of her, and my friend (female) points this out to her. All of a sudden, this girl starts calling my friend a b**ch and insults her mother! Guess she didn't like having the obvious pointed out to her!

Welllll......I have my own little theory of why is that. I think that if a girl wants to dress sexy does not mean she is dressing slutty. I know there are girls out there that take it to the extreme and lock not too classy. There are other girls that dress very sexy but, still very classy. Also you have to think about the kind of places you are going to be able to dress sexy. I know that a lot of girls dress very not appropriate sometimes, and that children should not be looking at that but, that is why parents have to guide children when presented with situations like that. But, there is one reason why a think girls dress like that "Boys". They are trying to find the right boy who is going to love them and marry them. Isn't that what boys are attracted to. That does not mean the the girl is going to pick the first one to come along, and that if she says no she should be put in the spot. I think no matter how a girl dresses she has the right to be the one who decides which boy she likes....Also remember guys are very visual and it really does not take that much for them to misinterpret that "mating cue".
Anyway, I think that a women's decisions should be respected no matter how she is dressed. Everybody should be respected no matter how they dress...Is irrelevant...

This is not ironic, i truly believe it:
wouldn't it be great if everyone could walk around totally naked and nobody cared? Wouldn't this mean that the human race has returned to the state of consciousness it was supposed to have in the first place?
Now, don't take me wrong i know it is an utopistic, crazy idea, but still I would love it if it was happening, for real.
What i 'm saying is that the world will never ever be the way we want it to be. Therefore all you can really do is accept it.
AFTER accepting it (which includes realize its true aspects) the second step would be to try and change it. You can never really change the world but you can affect the society that surrounds you for a small period of time.
If you want to do that you must really start to understand the people that live in your society. And allow me to say (with a truly friendly tone) don't judge people, try to affect them and evolve them if you truly care for them.
P.s. Excuse my English

By dressing sexy they are drawing attention away from their flaws, as you stated. As well as garnering attention from men that would, under normal circumstances, not give them the time of day. Most of the slutty or "sexy" *rolls eyes* women don't really have attractive features. Otherwise they wouldn't want attention drawn away from their face. I guess they are the ones men like to put a paper bag over! LMAO! ~smiles
pitsouni: what have you been SMOKING?! lol! Maybe if you passed around some of your stash to everyone in the world, we could have world peace! Wild, crazy, naked, world peace! Humans wear clothes for protection. Would you be willing to go outside naked in the snow? if you would, it wouldn't be for very long.

It all comes down to society.
Young women are being taught that they have no worth beyond their appearance. A woman must meet the societal standards of beauty in order to have any value or relevance. Unfortunately, the societal standards for beauty right now are quite reminiscent of street walkers. A young woman has to basically look like a sl*t to be deemed beautiful, and therefor worth living. A young woman even has trouble finding clothing that's not whorish.

I for one enjoy it immensely when I walk by and make heads turn. I love to dress up and look good everyday. I can't wear the clothes that I used to wear when I was younger, but I do wear clothes that emphasize my assets. I don't feel comfortable in baggy or conservative clothes. I just look in the mirror and go "Ugh", it's just not me. I therefore love to wear high heeled shoes, flowing feminine skirts (long or short), off the shoulder blouses, big hoop ear-rings and long flowing hair. I also love my tight jeans with a pair of glamorous high heeled shoes that display my painted toe nails. My significant other loves it too. I make no apologies for my sex appeal. Either you have or you don't, and I for one am happy that I was blessed with it.

Your exactly right! Most girls who dress slutty complain about being treated like wh*res and claim that have no idea why. They make other girls look bad, and they're confusing poor sex-crazed men, false advertising just like you said. If you don't want to be treated like a sl*t, then dont dress like one.

there is a big difference between slutty and sexy. you can dress for church and be sexy, you wouldn't want to dress for church and be slutty. Sexy says, I'm healthy, relativly young and and adventurous. Slutty says, lets have sex. Hi all you slutty ones!!!

Who's definition of sexy are we talking about? What about kids who don't dress appropriately because they don't have good role models? Teenage boys could adopt this type of mentality...or maybe they already have.

Just because you want to be sexy doesn't mean you want sex. Slutty is generally someone who doesn't know how to pull off sexy and fails.
