Johnny's fiddle was impresive. But when the Band of Demons came in, the groove was undeniable. Don't get me wrong, I admire Johnny's courage to go toe-to-toe with such a formidle adversary as Lucifer, but that's not what I'm agrueing. Do you or do you not agree that the Devil had a fair judging. Maybe they should go on American Idol or something. Anyways, discuss.....

Yeah, I would say that the devil rocked. Who else could have played a fiddle so well that weighed that much and would have sounded like crap.

From Futurama:
Robot Devil: Sorry but I hold all the cards here. There's nothing I can do. Now, if you'll just sign this fiddle contest waiver.

[Fry takes the pen but Leela stops him.]

Leela: Wait. What fiddle contest?

Robot Devil: The Fairness In Hell Act of 2275 requires me to inform you that if you can best me in a fiddle contest, you win back Bender's soul. As well as a solid gold fiddle.

Fry: Wouldn't a solid gold fiddle weigh hundreds of pounds and sound crummy?

Robot Devil: Well it's mostly for show.

Johnny won ofcourse and the devil new it when he laid that golden fiddle down at Johnny's feet. The devil cheat when he allowed a band of demonds to join in they were playing bass not even a fiddle. Johnny played by himself with just his fiddle. Therefore Johnny won hands down.

It's just to prove that good can triumph over evil, and technically that Devil cheated, he had his own huge symphony (sounded sweet though) that just popped up, but that Devil didn't play the fiddle as good as Johnny, but with bass in the backround and all that other stuff it sounded better, but if you just compared the Devil (not the rest of his demons) and Johnny, Johnny wins, don't you think?

Anyway real good oldie, gives me shivers...

I think the ultimate winner was The Charlie Daniels Band. I mean really, this was one crappy song, but 20+ years after it was made, people are still playing/listening/discussing the song. But I think Johnny won because the devil "bowed his head because he knew that he'd been beat" ... he knew a great fiddle player when he heard one. No wanker like Simon was judging.

Johnny won. "The Devil bowed his head because he knew that he'd been beat and he laid that golden fiddle on the ground at Johnny's feet" At this point, the Devil lets Johnny win.

Johnny definitely won. While I agree that his was not the most stellar performance, the Devil basically lost by disqualification. It was a mono a mono contest, and he had a band join him. The Devil woulda had it if he'd just played by the rules, but unfortunately, that's against his programming.

The song says "the devil just hung his head cause he knew he'd been beat and he laid that golden fiddle on the ground at johnny's feet...." Sounds to me like the Devil forfeited any judgment.

The Devil bowed his head because he knew that he'd been beat. He laid the golden fiddle on the ground at Johnny's feet. Johnny said "Just c'mon back if you ever wanna try again. Cuz I told you once you son-of-a-b***, I"m the best that's ever been!"
