I have written a piece that is about 525-575 words longs. My friends and colleuges found it inspiration in an emotional level. It is relatable to teens being A: I am one B: that is the time that one must make many desicions and it isnt rare to find oneself fearing about the future. I guess it could be described as a Catcher in the Rye/Robert Cormier-esque piece. But it isnt too overwhelming or I didnt try to make it that way. what should I do with the story that would be productive and I wouldnt regret it later?

If you fail publishing it with the numerous short story literary magazines, usually on college campus, try to publish it on your own web sites use PDF Protocol Document Format. Yet if you want to be recognized by the literary establishment, check out the Writer's Digest annual edition. Write down addresses, editors, and literary magazine titles and send it out. Sometimes it's like playing roulette, hope you hit the right number.

Publishing is a tough gig. There is no doubt about that, but if you really believe in your book, you should never give up. I would say that since this is your first novel you should try to get an agent. An agent may help you proofread(575 pages = at least some errors and tough spots) which is good, but most importantly they can get your novel to people who want to read it, publish it, and make money from selling it. Unsolicited submissions don't work very well with no name authors. So unless you have published some very good poems and short stories in Literary magazines most publishers won't look at your novel unless an agent hands it to them.
