Summer was always boring. But I still liked it better when I didn't have to work and it was just a stupid summer break from school. Now it's boring because I have to work 5 days a week.

Sweetheart, anything is only as lame as you allow it to be.... summer is summer, it simply stands for the warmer portion of the year.... the days of summer are yours and yours alone...I suggest you begin finding your imagination, and not let one more day go by where you sit bored out of your mind, wondering why this summer is boring...DO SOMETHING MAN!!!
And this goes for all of the ppl who said YES to her question... good lord, is laziness an epidemic on-line or what?
p.s. I hope you find a hobby...personally, I've had nothing to do this week so I decided to build a hammock from scratch. If you are as young as you seem, I hope you can use that youthfulness to LIVE and learn. I'd hate for you to be 50 years old and regret the summer you let slip away.
peace girl.

Actually, it keeps getting more fun. When I was a teenager it seemed pretty boring, not a lot of money, no car, friends went for extended vacations to their other parents house. But now, I can call the shots, spend time with my husband, we just went driving into the countryside the other day just to see where the road would go, and took pictures of wild flowers, fields of grain, little creeks with bushes hanging into the water. It was beautiful and peaceful, and sparked some good conversation.

When I was a girl it seemed like summers would go on forever. As time goes by, so do your summers start to go faster. You need to do something totally different than your used to doing. You need to step out of how you traditionally spend summer. If you usually go to the beach, then maybe decide to go camping or backpacking. If that doesn't float your boat, maybe you could volunteer at your local animal shelter as a dog walker. Or maybe you could volunteer at your local hospital. Life is too short to be bored by it. Get out there and have fun.

I think when one is in the spring of their life cycle everything is so new and exciting and as we experience each thing we become less excited .So as you get older and life gets more complex the shinny newness of things wears off and we may not look forward to things we loved in the past.If you are a school child summer is wonderful but as you grow up and assume life's responsibilities you have to work and do a lot of things in the summer so it just becomes another season. But try to keep summer in your heart and you can find pleasure in all you do.

It's only boring if you make it boring. I like to use the summer to learn new things, visit new places and to just get out and enjoy the world.

Not at all becuase as you get older and things get different. Every Summer is different, when your 10 you go to summer camp and when your 12 you spend every day at the skate park and then when your 20 you have to work. It varies and thats why I love Summer!!!

no it seems like time is flying the older you get. The seasons whirl by and the years fly. A year becomes nothing a summer but a pause.

Thats cuz what excited you when you were younger doesn't appeal to you anymore. Think about it, there are still cool attraction parks i.e Magic Mountain and Raging Waters etc. but they don't sound as fun anymore.
When I was young (I still am but I feel so old) I used to go the super markets and collect the baskets and take them home to play in them. I used to pretend it was my car and I would put my stuffed animal in it.
Simple things used to entertain me and my sisters when we were young but now I'm all grown up and its just a cute memory.
Just keep finding new things to do so can always have a memory
