The most red cards dished out in one game was an astonishing 20.
The incident occurred in a league match between Sportivo Ameliano and General Caballero in Paraguay, when two Sportivo players were sent off. A 10-minute fight ensued and the referee dismissed a further 18 players. The match, not surprisingly, was abandoned.

no a game was abandoned involving portugal and angola a few years ago because 4 were sent off
