Unless you have a toll free number, the area code indicates to the person where you purchased the phone. However, it's still quite vague as it doesn't pinpoint your exacat location unless you have your cell phone located on a public forum or can be Googled easily.

Only if they work for the cell phone network you have your contract through and has access to your billing records.
Other than that, no, they can't tell where you live.
But police departments can triangulate your cell phone trasmissions and tell where you are at any paticular time from what cell towers your signal is using.

yes because I pressed charges against someone for harrassment from a blocked number and the cops subpoena'd the cell company to release the private number, and they traced it back to a new york cell and the company of that cell, and now they are gonna subpoena that persons phones company to find out their address so that He cant be brought up on charges for harrassment, and they are gonna send a court notice to his address.

Yes and no - if you do a reverse phone number lookup like on www.whitepages.com, you can see the AREA and CARRIER of which the phone is from, but nothing else.
