I have run across loss of sound (for no apparent reason) many MANY times both personally as well as my friends.

9 times out of 10 it has ended up being the DRIVER for the sound card being "glitched". Especially if a prgram has been installed that alters or accesses the sound card.

In most cases, all you need to do is UNinstall the sound card driver, then Turn OFF the computer for AT LEAST 5 MINUTES. I do NOT mean REBOOT!

Then turn the computer on and let Windows find the sound card and reinstall the drivers.

In RARE cases I have had to go to the sound card manufacturer's web site and get the newsest drivers to fix the loss of sound.

This is most likely caused by a program that requires the newest drivers to work properly.

Not likely both spkrs died at the same time unless you wanted the neighbors to hear your computer. Most common problem is loss of power to them. Next is sound card set-up. Next is plug from snd/crd to the spkers. Will be rare that it isn't one of those.
