Common sense would tell you that you have to contact the Colorado facility to find out what their legal steps are to make sure it gets filed, and completed correctly.

You'll need to file in the county you're a resident of. Go to the county courthouse and pick up the forms. You may be able to file without an attorney. Also, most courts have free legal aide where they will answer your questions in regards to a divorce. They will not, however, do the paperwork for you or go to court for you. Under the circumstances, you may also qualify for a waiver of filing fees.

As far as the insane plea, you will have to have certification of the insanity to obtain a divorce on that basis and unless there are children involved, it's usually easier to file nder "irreconciable differences". Good luck!
