My 94 Ford Probe GT when running has a clanging sound coming from the engine. It's like a loud ticking that goes with the sound and rate of the engine. It started recently and I was told from an auto shop that im sure wants to screw me over it was my fuel injectors. So the basic question is, Could a LOUD click click click click sound that goes with the sound of the engine be the injectors?

Strong gas smell, lots of white smoke out of the tailpipe are symptoms of bad injectors. Get some 44k. It's the best fuel system cleaner out there in my opinion. It's made ny B G. The clanging? Hard to say. You may have to replace the motor. I would try the 44k first though.

Wet oil at the end of the exhaust tube is one. Add injector cleaner to the fuel tank once in a while helps to keep them clean.
