I have to agree with you that the best part of it was seeing Vin Diesel in the last two minutes of the film. I went with my 12 year old as he is as obessed with these movies too. I think the first one was the best too and Vin Diesel is one my favorite actors (I'll forgive him for "Chronicles of Riddick").

The cars were awesome and the action sequences were excellent for being entirely done by stunt drivers (there was no CG animation on any of those scenes per trivia on IMDB.com); however, drifting just doesn't have the adrenaline rush of street racing. Only upside drifting over racing is in real life of if you wreck and you might be able to get away with an "oops, the car skidded, officer" and you are not as likely to die.

I didn't find the storyline entirely plausible and a bit disgraceful in the fact that it glamorized 17 year olds getting into a life of crime as there is no other way they would be able to buy all those cars if they were working at McDonalds like a normal teen. The only plausible part there is the kids that ripped off the Yakuza getting ending up dead.

it was alright...the storyline definitely wasnt the best but the action, racing and the visual was entertaining, which is what i'm sure many people went to see the movie for. i gotta admit there were some cheesy parts though. part 1, in my opinion, was still the best one.
