Are you a student? Do you have a job? Look for a roommate, share an apartment. get another job if you need to. Your choice at this point is whether it is time to grow up or remain a child in your parent's house. If CA is too expensive, where could you afford to live? If you aren't a student, think about going to school so you can get a better paying job when you graduate.

Wait until eventually you're 18 and out of faculty. Then imagine about it. Get a friggin' job and let your parents have their own life. You can "afford" anything you're willing to work for. You're too old to be nursing off of your Mom and Dad. GROW UP!!!

You want to know what I think?? At 21 you ought to be independent and live your own live. If you live off your Parents, they are the boss.

Maybe they are doing it so that you will learn to support yourself. You are an adult. Join the military or peace corps. if you can't afford to live.
