If it is red, wrinkled and dry-looking there are probably two things happening here. During intercourse or masturbation the friction causes small abrasions in the skin of the shaft and head. Regular bar soap dries out the skin and makes those abrasions more pronounced (and sometimes painful). Try using a personal lubricant such as KY Jelly (from the drug store) or Astroglide (just one of many you can get at your local sex shop or online) during sex. For cleanup try a shower gel or glycerine based facial cleanser (Do not use Noxema!). You may even want to try a dab of baby oil after you shower.

Try a wash cloth instead of your hand and use liquid soap instead of bar soap.

all soap has the tendency to bind with oil in your skin. use less.
