It's perfectly fine! Can't stand people that say it isn't. It's a natural part of life! The only people who get embarrased about stuff like that is a bunch of snotty, pricks who can't handle a mature discussion about the body!

There is no need to be ashamed. On the other hand, some people view this as a very personal thing. I remember when I first started I told my best friend and she thought i was a weirdo for telling her. It kinda grossed her out. It may be okay to discuss with very intimate girlfriends and female family members. Men typically want nothing to do with that subject matter.
It is great that she is excited about becoming a woman,, but the whole world does not have to, or neccisarily want to know.

it is MUCH better to be excited than ashamed. her body is becoming that of a woman, which is something to be excited about and look forward too. if she wants to tell everyone let her, they can let her know if they don't want to hear about it. after she deals with having a period for a few months the excitement will surely turn into acceptance. shame about having a period is the same as shame about her body since it is a natural process. it isn't something that can be changed. every month as a woman our bodies prepare for a baby and if it isn't time that baby's nest gets renewed. being ashamed of her body is never a good thing and shouldn't be encouraged. that could lead to all kinds of difficulties for her later in life.

Well its ok that she is proud of her body developing. HOWEVER that is not something that other people want to know. It doesn't mean she has to be ashamed. It just means that people do not want to know when you are bleeding or any other private thing that you do. Some things are meant to be personal.
