i had used ebay a couple times before and always had been careful when it comes to purchasing and buying anything online. one day i got a bunch of emails from potential buyers. i was so exicited. i log on to ebay and came to realize that someone had used my account and had posted other listings...mainly of cameras and other gadgets... so many people wrote; some wanted to buy the item right away. i was frantic. ebay had no contact number and i couldnt get a hold of ebay till way laetr that day when i emailed them. Since then i never feel safe with ebay

How did they log on to my account and post their listing? Has this happened to you?

YOU have clicked on a link in a spoof email, THAT is how someone got access to your eBay account. There is loads of security info on eBay telling EVERYBODY NOT to click on a link in an eMail and how to verify an eMail is legit.

People should NEVER check their common sense at the log-in sign when doing anything online.

Go to www.paypalsucks.com That might help you out somewhat.

Both paypal and ebay have a lot of problems with security. I avoid both.

It's easy to scam people (buyers and sellers) on ebay.

Unfortunately this problem could cause you a great deal of trouble. This guy has access to all of your personal information.
The only thing you can do at this point is to contact eBay and wait for them to fix it. I suggest Closting your Account and staying off of ebay altogether. I've known way too many people that have had this happen...that's why I stopped ebaying.

Do a google search for ebay fraud.

I'm sorry, good luck!

Never give anyone your log in info! Do not respond to emails asking for your login info. Do not click on links inside of emails. When accessing ebay/paypal, ALWAYS type in the URL. (Like I said, never use links b/c they can take you to fake websites).

I sell quite a bit on eBay myself & was very surprised when I came back from a 4 day vacation to see that ebay had temporarly restricted my account. They had emailed me right away stating that they thought someone had breached my account & was selling on my behalf without my knowlege & they pulled the items before they were even listed. They were right! The problem was that my email & my ebay account both had the same password. My husband received a spoof email from ebay & entered our information before he realized that it was a fake. Think back. Did you have any weird emails in the last month? I get them from paypal a lot, too. Be careful! I am very grateful that ebay was on watch & protected me when I wasn't there to do anything about it. It's one of the safest online buying/selling services in the world. I hope this helps you....good luck & keep on ebaying!!

Their website security sucks when it comes to caching. If you just close your browser without cleaning your cookies or your cache and then if someone else opens up a browser again, youre still logged into ebay. They can check your cookies and cache to steal your password.

Always logoff and change your password every month to something unique. Use numbers and letters and capital letters.

Also there is something called phishing. Its when someone sends you an email that looks JUST like ebay and they ask you to log into their web site and enter some personal information. They steal that info and use it to scam..its a hack job.

Never but I would not like it if that happens to me , I would quit using E-bay if that happens to me, and the team from E-bay is sooo slow in resolving this kind of problems , or any other problems , once I had a situation in that website , I send a letter asking for help to the E-bay people, they reply my e-mail 6 weeks later.

Someone stole or guessed your password and listed the items. It's that easy if you know the password.

this has happened to a lot of people,

its more than likely you have an easy password, change it immediately to something harder to guess.

ie. instead of password, do P4ssw0rD

never write down your passwords either
