I'm new to music downloading and I just made my first CD using Windows Media Player burning software. I only got 19 songs on the CD and I thought I could get a lot more. Is there a way to get a lot more on the CD? I have CD-R 700 MB, 80 min, 52X. It is just that I need a CD that has more storage capability?

To compress a song, convert it to MP3 format. You will need MP3 editing software to do that. Do a search, there are free ones available. You will lose a little of the songs quality. Be aware that not all CD players are able to play songs in MP3 format, so you may want to burn a couple to a CD and test before spending too much time on it.

There are many different formats that you can use for your music. Some of these include WMA, MP3, WAV, etc. The best byfar is MP3, as it is understood by most media players. When creating a music CD using Windows Media Player, it is not always beneficial to use the format that WMP uses. The format WMP uses is WMA, which, while understood by most Microsoft programs, is bulky and not very well designed. You may look into downloading CD burning software such as Nero, or Alcohol 120%. Generally, you can only fit roughly 700-800 mB on a Compact Disc, but if you use a function called "OverBurning", which is accessible in some burning software, you can burn more data onto a cd that normally possible. The sideaffect of such a function is that some devices may not be able to read the CD.

Use Nero Burning Rom. You can choose to burn everything straight to mp3. Load up as many songs u think will fit. When it shows you have too many, just delete some until they all fit in a 700mb disc.

If not then you need to convert to mp3 format. MP3 has the current highest compressed music file. However you are not going to able to play them in your car CD player or portable CD player. Use an Ipod instead or MP3 player to listen to thousands of songs.

at the same time as burning an audio CD, the scale decrease is measured in minutes the position seven-hundred MB more effective or less equals 80 min. So the in undemanding words "compression" you may do is shrink away silence on the starting up/end of tracks (if any). there is an extra effective positive way even if the position you do the different, i.e. you burn more effective than the CD is meant to handle. that is termed overburning. Nero can try this, and InfraRecorder (it really is loose) could also do it. be conscious even if that overburning can harm your burner, the position the prospect of harm will advance with the era of time you exceed the time decrease. some seconds overburning should not be a difficulty with maximum burners even if. Btw, an same technique will be utilized on an information CD.
