You dont need an invite.
Go to http://www.gmail.com and click on ABOUT GMAIL. Then on the left side, click on SWITCH TO GMAIL.
Just pretend you want to switch to their email client, and you can signup for free =)
Edit: Just contact me through my profile and send me your email address and I can send you invite, but its easier to just use the steps above since you shouldnt really disclose your personal email address to complete strangers.
