Harry Potter is my favorite book series. My favorite book in the series is Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. I love the movies just as much.

it depends that question could have 3 answers (the books, the movies, or the character)...I love the books so much they are amazing!!!!!!!! The movies are pretty much awful because so much is left out and i picture things differently when i read than they are in the movies. and as far as the character goes i think he is a giant prat!! While he is incredibly brave he doesn't think things through like he should. for example when he saw Sirius in the department of mysteries it was all Hermione could do to convince him to check 12 grimuald place and when harry did that he listened to kreacher even though he knew that kreacher hated him and Sirius. also he didn't even go talk to Snape when he had the Sirius vision even though that would make perfect sense since snape is in the order. in the sixth book (and in the second) he didn't take Hermione's advice not to use or confide in the books he found (in the 6th it was the Half-Blood Prince's potion book and in the 2nd it was riddle's diary). so the books are great the movies not so much and the character is just asinine.

I have to give the author respect for getting kids away from the internet and video games long enough to read those very large novels.

As for the story its a very good story that captures the imagination of adults and children alike. That seems like a first to me. I've actually talked to my friends kids about the stories. And the child seem to be very excited that they've read something that an adult has.

As for the character. I have to say that I'm very curious how this series can be ended in the next novel. Harry still doesn't seem powerful enough to take on Voldermort. I can't wait to see how it ends. and later see how Hollywood translates the books

I love the Harry Potter books and movies!

J.K. Rowling has such an imagination, it's unreal! I love how reading the books or watching the movies makes me forget about reality.

Once my son gets a bit older, I'll start reading the stories to him.

The books are well written, great fun, and have characters who seem real (given that it is fantasy). There are identifiable good guys and bad guys (mostly...). The stories teach a number of virtues: courage, loyalty, strength of friendships, and the list goes on. I have had no interest in turning to Satanism or anything of the sort from reading them

It's good for children. Anything that keeps kids reading is a good thing, and kids who used to not like reading can't put these books down.

And it's also good for tweaking the noses of the fundamentalist idiots who think reading about wizards will turn kids into devil worshippers. Yeesh! :-)

I like the series--I think it's a great way for parents and kids to read together, and there's some really amazing stuff hidden in it, too! (and no, I'm not talking satanism...I'm talking literature!)
