The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Its in English (although it does have a made up language in subtitles sometimes called Elvish). Its rated PG-13. Its REALLY good.

It depends on what you like, but in comedy there;s Dumb and Dumber (pg13) and it's sequal. Also high on my favorites are the Star Wars series, especially Revenge of the Sith (pg13). Even though it's a kiddie movie, Cars (pg) was really fun to watch, as was Over The Hedge(pg). Firewall(pg13) is a suspense movie that is pretty good.
Also, Bollywood films are really cool. Just try to get a legal copy- they have clearer views and English subtitles. In that category there's Bunty&Babli, Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya, Paheli, etc based on your interests. They are roughly the equivelant of pg13 in the U.S.

Sounds like you want a film to watch with a child.
I would recommend any of the breathtaking cartoons by Hayao Miyazaki such as Laputa: castle in the sky, Princess Mononoke, Spirited away or Howl's moving castle.
They are all in Japanese with subtitles in various languages and usually dubbed into English if you prefer (it doesn't matter if a cartoon is dubbed!).
They are all rated U (Universal: suitable for everyone) or PG (Parental Guidance: General viewing, but some scenes may be unsuitable for young children).
You won't be disappointed by any of these beautiful, deep films. Happy viewing!
EDIT: Oh, yeah sorry, they are fantasy adventures and very clearly based on the dreams of children- fantastic stuff!
