I don't quite get it, what would actually give people the idea of making something that would scare people? Seeing as a lot of people don't like being scared.
(Also, I do find it amusing that people were scared of an early film of a train coming towards them, because they'd never seen film before. But that's kind of irrelevant.)

I guess the concept of horror has been around for centuries - horror fiction was very popular in the 1700;s through to today, and as technology imporved this was translated into movies.
Simply, people enjoy being scared, - just one of the quirks in us humans

So people could be cowards.
A horror film is pretend danger. We can experience the intense emotions the film evokes, without ever exposing ourselves to any sort of real danger or risk.
We can be scared silly, and perfectly safe at the same time.
(Now, what truely scares me are the people who like the slasher flicks.)

The guy who created Frankenstein probably gave the idea accidentaly cos he created Frankenstein to live like everyone else not to give a scare to everyone.Lol,being scare is fun.Drop the tension abit girl...

Well, if people don't like to be scared, they shouldn't watch a scary movie. Those who do enjoy a nice scare, can...the beauty of having free will!

I think people really do like being scared, as long as they are in a safe place. It's the adrenaline rush.

people get excited when they are scared, its a rush.same reason people go to haunted houses on halloween.its fun.
