What was it like? Did it sound like a train?

May 3, 1999...the whole place looked like a war zone afterwards. I was huddled in a bathroom at work. And yes, it does sound like a train on top of you. The whole think was eerie. It happened so quick but seemed like an eternity as it passed over.

But for some strange reason...I still stand outside and watch when the weather is getting violent. I was only afraid in the very moment that it was happening.

I was out camping, asleep at the time. It sounded like a really intense thunderstorm, with extremely powerful winds. The edge of the tent started to lift up (it was not staked down to the ground, just held up with fiberglass poles.) I half-woke, thinking the other guys were playing a joke on me. I said something like "Hey, that's not funny, put the tent down."

A short while later, after the storm passed and I woke up fully, state park rangers came to see if we were all okay. It passed by less than a quarter mile from us. I could have wound up in Oz!

yes I have, when I was young, didn't last very long but did a lot of damage and was kind of thrilling. something I will never forget, yes it was loud from the wind, like a train, ya sort of I guess.

Yes I have. One blew through my neighborhood, and like an idiot I stood at my sliding glass door and watched it as it took down a fence and a tree.

I tore my ado once and I survived, but the ado was f*&(ed and I had to buy a new one. Once torn, they can't be repaired.
