5'8 weighing 160 pounds I would say, anybody that weighs more than that in the 9th grade has already hit a growth spurt or they're just big for there age.

The average weight is the sum total of the weight of all 9th grade receivers divided by the number of 9th grade recievers. Your height and weight aren't nearly as significant as your brain and heart. You're asking the wrong people the wrong question. Ask your coach what you need to do in order to play tight end and then do it.

IT'S NOT THE WEIGHT AS MUCH AS THE HEIGHT FOR A WIDE RECEIVER IF YOUR 6 FOOT AND ABOUT 160 TO 190 THATS GREAT . BUT YOU HAVE TO BE FAST ON YOUR FEET LIKE IN THE 40 YD DASH.
