I absolutely LOVE it. Both Kubrick & Jack Nicholson did a terrific job. Not to mention the little kid who played Danny. "Danny's not here, Mrs. Torrance." Scary.

Love it. I have watched the original several times and always find something new that I missed before. It is really strange to watch and is a true classic. Yes its scary every time I watch it.

While I love the imagery and the feeling of dread and lonliness the movie captures, I've always felt that Jack Nicholson's performance was more parody than scary. He seems crazy from the very start, rather than having the hotel drive him nuts.

I loved that movie! my fav part was when the kid wrote redrum on the door and in the mirror it looked like murder!
