Irrespective of whether they are or are not better physically, many factors outside of talent go into winning WC. Not least, money and financial support and sponsorship. Many African Nations are not wealthy and do not as such have the ability to promote the sport, train and support players full time or attract coaching staff. Corrupt Governments divert money to themselves, not the people or the promise of lifting them out of obscurity. Of course that is not all African Nations. I think some have done extremely well with limited opportunities and availabilities. Ghana have performed outstandingly and as the sport develops, someone from that continent will challenge in years to come. It's not always as clear as having a talented side of footballers. What does this achieve if you cannot get them out there to compete against and travel to other countries to improve their level of experience.

I agree with you. Of all the teams not to win a world cup the 74 and 78 teams are the best. How unlucky do you have to be to face the host nation not once but twice in 2 successive finals ( West Germany and then Argentina). A few people might say that the 50 Brazil team should have won. 54 Hungary was a good team. But they were not as good as the Netherlands.

They have only been playing at this level internationally for a relatively short amount of time. Given some more time I'm sure an African nation can and will win.

I'm from Africa, and the simple reason is that most African countries are governed by dictators who suck the life out of the people, and so could not care less about sport. So the only reason we never make it anywhere, is not cos we're not good sportsman but cos our countries are so messed up politically that they cannot back up sport appropriately.

That is just ignorant. Whoever said Africans are better sportsmen physically probably thinks they are well endowed.

Erm! weren't they out alot of the time due to apartied, and beside its not that they are better physically, they just dont have the facilities of other nations, but will get there one day.

Ghana look like the most capable African nation of winning it (just on 2 performances) they have a great team spirit and good skill although as said on another post, tactics and discipline are not as advanced as say , European football.

Let me shed some light.ln Africa soccer is a part time job unlike other countries in the western world.Africans are stronger phsyically and mentally no doubt .lf they had to play full time they would out source the so called champions.

Because the match officilas have been biased in some games where the Africans would have triumphed.
