As in duct tape? There is a product on the market called Goo Gone, it is all natural and biodegradable made from orange oil but works very well on removing sticky residue. You may want to test it on a hidden area first though to insure that it won't leave like the dark oil spots on your paint if it is a painted wall.

Use peanut butter, the oil removes the tape.
Also a heat gun works.

use a hand held hair dryer set on low and just keep pushing with the finger on your other hand until you can push it into a little ball and pick it off.

try GOO gone, or try any good sticker, and try to swab up the sticky parts with the sticker. i've found this works well with freshly removed sticky stuff, not older.
