Bulls are color blind.

If you're thinking in terms of bull-fighting...it isn't the color of the red cape that attracts their attention. It's the movement, the waving of the cape.

the bulls that are raised to be on those bull fighting shows, are raised in 100% darkness, when they film them, they have no idea whats going on, because they have been in light before, also, you might wanna note that bulls are colorblind, they aren't fond of red, since they are being exposed to light for tyhe first time, it scares them, and they run towards the blanket [which isnt even red by the way, they have many different colors, the last one is pink] because it's moving, it scares them, because it's moving rapidly. I was the only one who paid attention in Spanish class in school.

Bulls and other bovines are unable to see colors. They view the world in black, white and shades of gray. The reason bulls love to charge the cloth at the bullfight is the motion of the cloth and the fact that the matador is taunting him. The bull sees the matador and the cloth...the teasing and not the color is what makes the bull charge.

This is just a myth- the real reason they run after/ attack red things, (Im assuming you're thinking mainly of bull fights where the bulls run after the red cloth?) Is that they are provoked and irritated beforehand, and then the red object is waved in their face. As the naturally aggressive creatures that they are, this makes them even more angry and they run after it.

it's just a myth. they charge at you if your moving around fast (like the cape they matadors wear). The matadors have just always worn red capes, because it is a tradition for them. =]

that is just a myth. they chase the cape not because it is red but beacuse someone is inticing them. i bet if you waved a purple, black or blue cape they would run after you then too.
