I feel like people are born the way they are. However, after knowing some of the gay people I've known, I wonder if you're right. Almost every one of them had some kind of emotional problem. Of course if you live in a world where most of humanity hates and ridicules you, then you might be crazy, too.

I would like to know how many actual homosexuals those who are so convinced that homosexuality is a choice have actually met and discussed the topic with. In my experience, homosexuals are simply born that way just as heterosexuals are born with attraction for the opposite sex. I have personally more than one homosexual who wished more than anything that his sexual preference was not that way because he believed he could not live a happy "normal" life that way. Perhaps less ignorance would prevent such concerns about the "normalcy" of the life of a homosexual.

I don't belive Homosexuality is an illness!!! Homosexuality is older than the Bible itself!! Homosexuality has been with us through out history. I believe that with the introduction of Monothiestic religion that we have put a lable on Homosexuality as being "Bad" and and "Illness". You cannot denie who you are and what you perfer and live any kind of happy life!
Great question!!!

Homosexuality is seen in all animals including human species. It's not an illness, but could be an obsession with sex, trying to explore all possibilities.
Just like normal sex, food and drink, its behavior is physical, and that's where one might go wrong. Too much emphasis and obsession with the physical world, taking away from what-needs-to-be the intellectual world of knowledge and true fulfillment.

it is not an illness, but i do not believe people are born that way.. i believe we're born neutral with tendencies one way or the other. just like a mass murderer wasn't born a murderer, he had the potential and through the experience in his life eventually chose to be a murderer. that is a very dramatic analogy i know, but it illustrates the point i think. ultimately.. no homosexuality is not an illness. at least no more so than any other sexual preference.

No, of course not! Homosexuality is te same kind of "condition" as being heterosexual, or bisexual, or anything else in that category! It isn't contagious, and isn't spread, although can be possibly influenced by childhood, parents, or other life factors. Either way, a new antibiotic advertised on TV or radio can't "cure" or "change" one's sexual orientation. Homosexuals are just like anyone else, be they hetero or bisexual. They are just misunderstood people, in a quest to find others who understand them.

No, I don't believe it is. An "illness" implies there is a cure or something is defective. I don't believe people (except the absolute sickest) would choose to be hated and villified the way homosexual men and women are. Nobody deserves to be treated that way.

And for that person who saying like a illness it can be passed down, I don't think so, again people influence behavior, from a young age, and for it to be passed down, a family would make a conscious decision on what is considered gay, or str8, then pick at any behavior outside, or inside those factors, and influences how a child will be, or even an adult, will play out there lives, thing like telling them not to walk like that, or talk like that, may tell that person, maybe something wrong with me, and again allot of times that person is just acting, but now there sexuality is coming into question.
And you cant be born that way at birth, if so you would have been born hermaphrodite, some said that there friends has emotional problems, these problem I feel are a result of there childhood, I think this same person answered my question, so he would know, I have a gay cousin, and he to has emotional problem, and before coming out of the closet, tried to kill himself, because he thought, and he resently told us this, we would hate him, and I think this to is a result of his childhood, if during a person childhood they are considerd doing something not normal and it is looked down upon, that person would fill bad, and think people hate 'em, when they think theyre just normal, so then they have to question themselves, and say am I normal
and thats the question they have to ask, and alot of times they are probably going to say no, because how other view them, but I feel its really a matter of one searching for themselves, and saying, I am who I am, let no one define me, I define me, and then from there determining if they are gay, not worring about how theyre going to be viewed
