I have grown a few and even though they have something which attracts the flies and bugs, do not remember any scent. If they have a scent, it must be very subtle.

i had a venus fly trap once that did not have an odor. there are several types of venus fly traps, i dont know that ne of them have a particular odor but if they do im sure it is for attracting certin insects

The one we had smelled like a plant. There was no bad smell at all.
